There has been an official complaint filed in regards this deal.

The league office will be investigating the matter immediately and replying directly to the General Managers involved.

Since Edmonton has moved the player involved it will not be completed regardless of the outcome of this investigation. That being said there may be a negative impact on the reputation's of either Edmonton or Chicago's GMs, Edmonton's if they are found to be attempting to cause harm to the reputation of Chicago or Chicago's if they went back on an agreed upon deal.
