The San Jose Sharks would like to offer Mats Sundin a contract of 1 year at 5.45 M
Although it is not the highest number in terms of dollar value, we feel this is a lucrative deal for an elite player looking to win.

We offer

Top 6 time playing with the likes of Iginla, Thornton, Michalek, Pavelski.
Power Play on the top unit.
The best opportunity at winning a Stanley cup, as the sharks organization figure to be a front runner to win the big prize
No Trade Clause

Boston Bruins- SUndin Offer

Post  BoynamedSue on Sat Oct 04, 2008 3:07 am

The Boston Bruins would like to extend Mats Sundin (C) to any one of the following offers 1.... 1 year 6.5 million 2..... 2 year 14M (7 million)
in this regard he would lead many prospects over the next couple seasons and potentially have dual captancy with brendan shanahan if he is signed. Together these 2 can mould many future stars giving them experience for potential coaching careers after their distinguished playing years are over. Also, we recognize leaving the great city of toronto is tough having played there for so long but staying in Boston, would leave u at relatively the same distance from sweden, not too mention having many young swedish talents to nurture on the national side. With an savy mix of veterans in savard, sundin and shanahan and an energetic young crop of prospects, we could challenge for the cup. With plenty left under the cap there is also room for much additional talent.

Mats has just hung up the phone after a lengthy call with his agent. He has decided he is going to play this year and his goal is simply to win.

The last 14 years in Toronto have been great but he feels it is time to move on. He has not seen enough change in the off season and feels the franchise is going to fail to make the playoffs yet again. He is not interested in rebuilding at his age and is not even sure if he is going to continue playing at the end of this year.

Mats accepts the Avalanches offer. It makes sense from a term and money sense and he feels that they are ready to take the next step. They added grit and goal tending and his skill and experience might just help them get it done this year.
