Vancouver's Re-signing

The Vancouver Canucks Officially Offer UFA Mats Sundin a contract worth 6M for 1 year.

Comparable contracts: Alfreddsson 1 year 4.350M, Arnott 2 year 4.500M, and Datsyuk 4 year 6.700M

(Sundin takes this minor cut due to his stats last year being under Demitra[4] Staal[8.25] and Hossa's[7.7] and Luongo [6.75].)

Reasons:

The Canucks strongly believe Sundin will help give us that extra push we needed in the Finals Last year

Sundin deserves a shot at the cup one more time and we'll give him that.

Gets to play alongside some of the best players in the league including Eric Staal, Marian Hossa, Roberto Luongo,Teemu Selanne, Pavol Demitra and Jonathon Cheechoo. (potentially Ray Whitney)

Help develop and mature the young guns on the team like Mason Raymond and Brian Boyle.

will wear an A on his jersey

The Canucks proved their commintent to Sundin by trading a 1st rounder for him and we Hope he understands our sincerity and passion to win
