UFA Offer - Bryan Smolinski

The Philadelphia Flyers offer UFA Bryan Smolinski a contract.

Offer: 1 year 0.500 M

Reasons
-excellent chance to make the playoffs
-another year in the NHL
-stay in the East

Buffalo offers Bryan Smolinski a 1 year 0.900M contract.

This offer is comparable to the offer recently accepted by Shawn Bates.

Reasons:
-Chance to make playoffs and make a run
-Same positives as Philidelphia, stays in East and keeps playing
-Will hold the 4th line center spot to start the season
-His hometown is only a few hours away driving beside Lake Erie
